Sustainability made real

Sustainable
Indonesian Waste Teak Root
Beneath the surface of Java’s forests lies a hidden treasure — teak root, often overlooked and left behind in the pursuit of commercial timber. But not by us. At Resouled, we see potential where others see waste. This resilient rootwood, just as tough and timeless as teak timber, is unearthed, salvaged, and transformed into something extraordinary.
Each piece begins its journey in the hands of Indonesian artisans — pioneers in their own right — who revive traditional techniques passed down through generations. Using hand tools, they carve, shape, and bring to life designs that honour both nature and craft. We finish each item with food-safe oils or beeswax, revealing the raw, wild grain patterns unique to every root. No two are ever the same — and that’s exactly the point.

Sustainable
Rattan
In the untamed landscapes of Java, rattan grows wild and free — a hardy vine often dismissed as a weed. But to us, it’s a natural marvel. A fast-growing, fertiliser-free fibre, rattan thrives without intervention, winding its way through the jungle and strengthening local biodiversity as it goes. It’s nature doing what it does best — no need to interfere.
Only the lianas — the long, climbing tendrils — are harvested, leaving the plant intact to regenerate. The entire process is done off-grid and by hand. Local communities cut, clean, and sun-dry each strand with time-honoured tools and bare skill. Then, with centuries of craftsmanship woven into their fingertips, Indonesian artisans shape the rattan into pieces that are as enduring as they are beautiful.
This is sustainability in motion — wild, raw, and completely human-powered.

Sustainable
Water Hyacinth
What some call an invasive plant, we see as an untapped opportunity. Water hyacinth grows in wild abundance across Indonesia — carpeting rivers, choking canals, and speeding up the decay of native aquatic life. It must be cleared. And in that challenge, we found purpose.
Harvested entirely by hand, locals cut the buoyant stalks, sun-dry them, then twist them into strong, flexible ropes. From there, Indonesian artisans take over — weaving these once-troublesome plants into beautiful, functional forms. No machines, no shortcuts — just raw material, skilled hands, and a whole lot of ingenuity.
From river to home, this is nature reclaimed — wild, regenerative, and reborn in every weave.

French Linen
In the windswept fields of northern France, flax grows tall and wild — one of the oldest cultivated plants known to humankind. We choose it for what it doesn’t need: no heavy irrigation, no synthetic shortcuts. Just 100 days of sun, soil, and sky. Once harvested, it’s naturally retted by dew and time — not chemicals — keeping the process as pure as the fibre itself.
At Resouled, we only source French linen from partners who meet the highest standards — Oeko-Tex certified and GOTS approved — ensuring every thread is free from harmful substances and ethically made from field to finish. The result? A textile that feels soft, strong, and unmistakably refined.
Crafted by nature, perfected by tradition — and made to bring understated beauty to your table.

Upcycled Glass
Bali’s thriving hospitality scene leaves behind more than just memories — it leaves mountains of empty wine bottles. With little infrastructure for recycling, we saw an opportunity to chart a different course. So we gave that glass a second life.
Collected from hotels and restaurants, each bottle is hand-sorted for strength, colour, and clarity. Then, using no more than simple tools and skilled hands, artisans clean, cut, and sand them down — transforming waste into something useful, beautiful, and ready to be poured into again.
From Bali’s bottles to your table — a story of reinvention, one glass at a time.
